Wilko Johnson was Dr. Feelgood’s guitarist and songwriter for their first four albums in the breakthrough years of 1974-77. Since then he’s taken his trademark brand of Canvey Island Blues around the world, both live and on record. Here are the highlights of Wilko’s solo career, including versions of four of his Dr. Feelgood classics. As a bonus to this 2xLP version, five exclusive tracks from a live 2005 show with his Blockheads rhythm section of Norman Watt-Roy and Monti are added. The gatefold sleeve includes a 2,500-word biography by Time Out’s Jim Driver.
