This much-admired album led to Geraint Watkins' performance on the BBCTV Later with Jools Holland programme and numerous radio sessions. The Welshman from Balham had an early rock’n’roll apprenticeship in Red Beans & Rice, Geraint Watkins & the Dominators, the Balham Alligators and with Shakin’ Stevens (the series of hits).
These led him to becoming much in demand enhancing artists such as Van Morrison, Paul McCartney, Nick Lowe, Status Quo, Dave Edmunds, Bill Wyman, Roger Daltrey and many others of that ilk. But then...
In recent years through a series of solo albums, it's his own songwriting abilities that have come to the fore. He’s been acknowledged by Bob Dylan who played two tracks on his radio show and he’s had songs covered by Don McLean, NRBQ, Dave Edmunds, the Holmes Brothers and Pokey Lafarge amongst others. His most recent album ‘Rush of Blood’ was produced by Basement Jaxx' Simon Ratcliffe.
